Nelson Mandela, July 4 1993.

South African music is so distinct and unique and to imagine it in operatic tones as well as with a rhythmic jazz emphasis, is igniting all my senses.I truly would love to see this production live in Johannesburg.

Maybe when I go see my good friend, Larissa, who is from South Africa and is here in the states getting her PhD. in Psychology.

Her dream is to go home and manage an orphanage for children with HIV/AIDS when she graduates. My dream is to get to work with her on that project.

This would be a great way to honor Mandela’s legacy as the Opera “Mandela Trilogy” is doing.
